The 16°F Run / 20-Dec-04 Okay, so it was 16 F (-8 C) on Loop 9. Big deal! Jeff and I did fine. We started up a hill immediately, got warmed up and didn't really get cold at all the whole time. In fact, we were steaming when we arrived back at the car. No ice, water, snow, sleet, freezing rain, blizzards, snakes, spider-webs, wind or polar bears this time. Friday's forecast will seem like a mid-summer's Caribbean vacation, but who wants that?
Richard's Bridge Richard broke his neck somersaulting off this bridge on a borrowed mountain bike 8 years ago.
Richard's Bridge He got out of the creek by himself this time. No backboard, neck-brace or stretcher!

The Not So Magnificent Seven / 24-Dec-04 The not-so Magnificent Seven did Loop 10 at 21 F (-6 C) -- seven runners doing seven miles with seven smiles, a few stumbles, scratches, tumbles and get this, a leaky water bottle. About half-way through we saw tiny ice-sickles clinging to Bryan's backside. He was wondering why the balmy morning was feeling so cool.
This is going to be tough - Bubba A rest after the HUGE ascent. Bryan figures out he has a leak in his H2O bottle. Ernie is trying to prevent a stroke.
Doing a Rike A run and hike. Matt does a nice hurdle!
Bubba Our Leader.
Shot From Above This was taken through a hunters scope. He didn't know the hunting season ended.
| The Not So Magnificent Seven The End. We froze while Kepler tried to figure out how to use the timer on his camera. | | |
